People who are not used to losing find it hard to come around when they suffer a crushing defeat. This might seem silly to a more rational person who understands that everyone wins some and loses some, but for the person who has been on a personal winning streak for a while, facing their haters can feel like a fate worse than death. Embarrassment is a different animal to some people. Some people would rather die than to be publicly humiliated, ridiculed or embarrassed. Embarrassment, or fear of it is what keeps some people in the same positions for most of their lives. Fear of failing in front of everyone is too much for them to bear. Is it all ego? Is it all self-grandizing? What could it be that would make a person hide out for days, weeks, months, or years after an embarrassment? Is it really that deep? Let's talk.
