On the Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 broadcast my special guest is pioneering health care information entrepreneur, medical economist, author, business strategist and resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and recent author of the novel “Catching Babies”, JD Kleinke.

Our paths crossed this June in Washington, DC at the Health Data Initiative III aka the 'health datapalooza' and then again last week at the Health 2.0 2012 Fall Classic in San Francisco.

Nested inside a week's worth of activities, and branded by SF Mayor Ed Lee a 'Innovation Month', Innovation Week's anchor tenant was Health 2.0 and related activities including the DC to VC competition. Interest and enthusiasm was palpable, the air was buzzing with both insights and curiousity as to the expanding interest in the nexus between health information technology, mobile and wireless apps and the 'triple aim' - the ultimate goal of accountable care.

We'll chat with JD about his take on the events, the accountable care world at large, and where he sees this ship sailing both near term and longitudinally, as well as some of his thoughts reflected in the NY Times opinion piece, 'the Conservative Case for ObamaCare' .
